Healthcare Consortium Upgrades Patient Care; Adopts Mellanox InfiBand Based Cloud Solution
SUNNYVALLE, CA: HPC4Health Consortium and University Health Network's Princess Margaret Cancer Centre ropes in Mellanox technologies, a supplier of Ethernet and InfiBand interconnect solutions; to provide fast, flexible and scalable computing architecture. The fundamental aim of the collaboration is solving the concerns over controlling the increasing complex data in healthcare sector generated by the present biomedical research environments.
This will also improve patient care and help researchers optimize treatment with the primary focus on finding a cure for cancer and genomics examinations. With its advanced cloud infrastructure, the solution lays foundation to the cancer and genomics programs to escalate the sharing, processing and analysis of data generated from radiology imaging, medical imaging analysis, protein folding, x-ray diffraction in order to improve patient care and boost up the cancer research.
“Mellanox’s CloudX and InfiniBand technology will facilitate collaboration between researchers and clinicians by enabling research to be shared. Our goal is to accelerate diagnoses and provide more personalized healthcare services for our patients,” says Jorge Gonzalez-Outeirino, Technical Manager and Assistant Director, HPC4Health.
There will be more connectivity among the individual clouds hosted by SickKids and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, while HPC4Health forwards its services to integrate resources, minimize maintenance and operational costs, and even improve the utilization of computational resources.
The complete end-to-end FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand solutions from Mellanox also exhibits high-bandwidth and low-latency processing framework needed to satisfy the requirements of immense computational demands being placed on today’s healthcare data centers.
